The American Idol results were announced on Thursday, as fans found out who got voted off the show. The first week of American Idol wasn't as impressive as Who Got Voted Off American Idol: American Idol Results from Week One fans might have hoped coming into the season, with a couple of performance shows that seemed to lack the spark of past seasons on Fox. There seems to be something different about American Idol this season, but maybe after the first week jitters are worked out of the system of these contestants, the performances will just get better and better. For now though, fans were able to watch the first American Idol results show of the season, and learned who got voted off first.

During the American Idol results show, fans were treated (submissive) to many of the delays that have become old fashioned for the show. Host Ryan Seacrest was up to his familiar announcement strategy as he whittled down who was safe during the show. On the girls side of the results "reveal" it came down to Katie Stevens and Janell Wheeler to decide which of the girls would be going home. It looked like American Idol fans made the right choice during the first week just based on performances, as it was Janell Wheeler that ended up with the fewest votes and the early ticket home from the show. She wasn't the only one though, as the second girl sent home was Ashley Rodriguez later on.

On the guy's side of the equation, two contestants were being sent home from there as well. This may have come as a shocking set of contestants to be sent home this week though, as it seems the voters may be supporting who they like more so than who was the best singer. Only time will tell on that account, but during the first American Idol results show of the season, Joe Munoz and Tyler Grady were sent home in a bit of a surprising announcement. This one could be talked about on every entertainment show on Friday, because they seemed safe when compared to the performances of Jermaine Sellers and Tim Urban earlier in the week. associatedcontent
